Mike Wilkerson
Legitimerad Kiropraktor — licensed in Sweden since 2008.
Mike has worked in natural health care since the 1980s, starting with Rolfing — a form of deep tissue massage — and applied kinesiology.
His interest in chiropractic came from his own experience: after a motorcycle accident he improved markedly under chiropractic care, and decided to train.
What does "Legitimerad Kiropraktor" mean?
It is the Swedish title for a licensed chiropractor. In Sweden the profession is regulated by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and the title is protected by law.
Licensure is granted only after five years of full-time university study, ending in a twelve-week internship in Swedish hospitals working directly alongside medical specialists.
Licensed chiropractors are part of the Swedish health system.
Why that matters here
In Spain, chiropractic is not regulated. The title is unprotected — legally, anyone may use it, trained or not.
That is not a small detail when it concerns your spine. It is always worth asking where the person treating you trained. That goes for Mike as much as anyone.
