What do Chiropractors treat?

It is important to understand that chiropractors treat neither symptoms nor disease. The chiropractor’s primary focus is in the localization and correction of vertebral subluxations. In other words, they seek to find and correct the underlying causes of dis-ease and illness, rather than merely attempting to suppress symptoms.

Through the adjustment, subluxations are reduced or eliminated, and the body is liberated from interference negatively affecting the function of the nervous system. When the nervous system is free of interference, the body is able to function optimally.

Many chiropractors will also focus upon education, helping people to better understand the various causes of vertebral subluxations, thus empowering them to make changes .

Though chiropractors do not treat specific symptoms or diseases, there are a number of conditions which have been known to respond well to chiropractic care. Some of these are:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Leg pain
